In November last year, Priori released a captivating fusion of electronic and new wave music, crafting an immersive listening experience. The song has a beautifully layered sound design that plays with contrast.
There is a true spark to ‘Power’ by J Priori, established in the first few seconds. He has structured it in such a moody, magnetic, yet textured way. When keenly listening to the track, I could feel the beats pulsing, drawing me in further with its charismatic and rich sonic landscape. It is truly a joy to listen to.

For starters, the track has a pulsating bass line which functions as the backbone to the rhythm. As the track drops, the listener can hear the hyperpop elements come alive with this intensifying bass. It has ethereal synths that weave in and out, further adding texture and depth to the track’s composition. You can feel the moments of intensity as the track seamlessly transitions and keeps you awaiting its developing structure.
The track further evokes intense passion through the rising and falling tones. The song feels universal and deeply personal at the same time. The complex, intersecting layers of sound explore ineffable emotion. Priori’s developed sonic language blends together so well, it make listeners stay hooked on the track. It creates that sense of anticipation and release through the ebbs and flows of the song.
J-Priori hits high notes especially towards the centre of the track with a quick succession of notes building towards this sonic climax. These runs almost overwhelm the listener as the wall of sound takes over the track. This juxtaposes the jazz-like section that follows it, each section’s contrasting style elevates the strengths of the other by highlighting their differences.
This track’s experimental and bold style creates something special by avoiding compromise and staying true to itself. I’m expecting more great songs from this artist in the future.
